We fished on Thurs and Fri, no fish on Thurs, a couple of Kokes on Fri and lost a couple rainbows, water was rising, no clouds and water looked like glass, there was no wind at all, we launched at Spring Canyon and fished within a few miles of there, we are going back next week for three days I have never fished when water was this high, does anybody have any advice?

Advice? Well, kind of. Fishing at this high pool is not normal during this time of year. I suppose the advice could be to not fish it this time of year (LOL), but if you caught that kind of Koke, I would not take my advice. So, as an alternate, my advice is to follow the wind. With the high water, the lake will probably be a little cool right now, so feed will be limited for the Kokes. Considering that they mostly filter feed plankton, the plankton will move with the wind, and will probably be in the warmer water near the cliffs on the down wind side.

When the water stays higher as is the case this year it bodes well for kokanee and rainbow fishing. The last couple of years they have brought the water level extremely low because of the winter snows. Remember, the state record kokanee is from Lake Roosevelt. In fact, the record was broke twice in one week the last time. I am real excited about your catch....I will be over for a couple weekends this April.... Generally they break the record in June on this lake, but I know any time from now until July would work. If you visit my blog you can see photos of the trout and kokanee this lake can produce in a good year...20 to 30 fish days and all over 2lbs.
