Myself and two friends recently fished around the net pens we loaded the boat just out of Elmer City and ran the 20 miles to the second set of net pens we trolled for several hours and threw every thing we had at them. Although the fish finder showed dozens of fish we could not hook up. Finally we decided to still fish and anchored the boat just off to the side of the pens . We all were using different types of power bait but all they would hit on was rainbow. Since we were fishing for sport we were all using ultra lights with 2lb test needless to say the large rainbows began biting. We lost several and all caught our limit the smallest being 5lbs the largest weighed 7lbs 4oz. Needless to say we all had a good day of fishing and are looking forward to a return trip. When rigging lines we used a small egg sinker with a split shot under it and a #6 treble hook with the split shot 16 to 18 inches from the hook we cast into 50 foot of water and let line out so that it would stay there instead of coming back to the boat. So if you are looking for an enjoyable day of fishing try still fishing for a while it gives you time to relax and talk with your buddies instead of the constant hassles of trolling. HAVE A GOOD TRIP
