4/16/2009 12:42:00 PMThanks for the report! I really enjoy reading about some of the lesser known species, they need their props as well. Have you tried attaching a small glow stick/bracelet to your rod tip for night fishing? It works great. Would you care to divulge the bait of choice?

4/16/2009 1:15:00 PMWhen I went last week I was using worms. I was using cut Smelt last night. I have tried the glow stick but I don't think it would make a whole lot of difference with this bite. It honestly seems like they eat the bait and just stay put with almost zero movement.

4/16/2009 4:44:00 PMI tried to attach pix on my last post but they we not posted. Last week was the first time I had caught one. I moved up here from Los Angeles and had never heard of them until this year. I cut the fillets in small cubes and fried them. Probably the best tasting fish I have ever eaten.
