Fished hawk creek area with no bites. Decided to troll up east shoreline and caught a nice 22" walleye and a few small trout. Weather was nice, water temp was @ 72 degrees and very calm. Fished from 6:00 to dusk. Bite seemed best right @ dusk. Any good walleye fishing tips would be appreciated.

Rusty, I've fished Hawk Creek at least one time for the last 6 years during the first week of August. It's always been in the morning and always on the south shoreline. We've always caught fish (walleye) in the area but instead of pulling plugs we've used bottom bouncers. I'm a bit confused when you say the East shoreline. Is that the shoreline on the main river heading towards 7 Bays? In summer when all else fails try crawlers on the bottom. On my site you can get more ideas on how to fish the lake.

We'll be on the lake (houseboats) in two days, can't wait.

Coach, the shoreline we fished was the east shoreline heading towards seven bays. Thanks for the info and enjoy yourself out on the lake.
