fished same spot as last 3 weekends on the sanpoil. this time had more people to put more poles out. long lined shallow cranks on center poles. rainbow pattern good for 5 (incuding a 3 and 1/2 pd) the perch good for 2. ran pink or red apex's on outside. they were good for the other 8 caught. we tried 3 different apex's and 3 different shallow diving cranks and every lure that day caught at least 1 fish. when the lake went like glass because of no wind the bite definitely slowed down. my best day fishing yet up here (when using my boat). kids had a blast catching fish. the youngest caught the biggest. fished from 10 to 4 pm. final count was 15 in the boat with 2 lost by the boat. no silvers. 7 of the fish were bigger than 16 inches. much bigger fish today.

Excellent report; thanks for posting! You definitely proved that glass calm surface conditions slow the bite at Roosevelt!

Sounds like we were churning the same stretch of water Saturday, and from your report you had better results than we did. I toyed with the idea of trolling an Apex, but haven't had any luck with them in the past so stuck with our flies and Rip'n Minnows. If we get out again soon we'll have to give the Apex another shot! The word is pink is the color right now, it was the most productive over the weekend for us. Thanks for the report!

apex's have almost always worked. pink had definetely been better lately. red with some prismatic was also working. more bites if tipping with worm. I don't actually use very many ripn minnows. I tend to pull out the plugs i use for walleye,
