Launched at Lincoln at 0900 and headed to "A" rock across they way. Trolled 3 rods using rippin minnow, flys and apex. Not even a hit. Water temp 56*, 3* warmer than at Hunters on Sunday. Moved over to Hawk creek and was able to boat 3 fish, all after noon. All came on rippin minnow long lined behind the boat about 150'. Spoke to a few others and they had the same results or lack of. Fishing has not been to good so far this year. Will try again over the weekend...

Wow...next County huh...lol Will give it a try. All things considered, 150' in the past has done real well. Thanks for the input

Thanks for the report. I think I was in there with you...the old hard top Sabrecraft. It's funny that the other guys are stating the longer the better. We were running leaded line with 50' of mono out a total of 195 feet. The rest of our gear was out at the 150 mark. 5 of the 6 hits we received were on the longer line. (only 4 boated fish, but all over 2 lbs) We were thinking that it was because that was the only perch pattern fly we had. I guess we'll be running our stuff out further. You're right though, the fishing isn't close to what it was last year at this time in Hawk Creek.

When I run my long line mono rigs this time of year they are 190' - 195' back and the leaded line rigs are out 150'. I run plugs on the long line outfits (Rip'n Minnows, Rapalas, etc.) and Frisky Jenny Roosevelt flies on the leaded line outfits. Flies are tipped with crawler. We're heading up there tomorrow, but probably won't arrive until after dark so will be fishing Sat & Sun. I don't expect fishing to be like last year, but do expect to catch bigger fish than last year. Watch for my report Sun/Mon. ;-)
