11/20/2012 8:34:00 AMMotoboat, the bigger one was the 5.5lb one. The tiny ones were 2, 2 lb 1oz, and 1lb15 oz. I just couldn't kill the big guy. He was scarred and beaten, and looked like a survivor. He was a native too.

11/23/2012 8:33:00 AMOkay, I was not anticipating the largest fish pictured with the other 3. Was the 5.5lb released fish. Thought all 4 fish pictured were kept. That the 5.5lb would have been the 5th fish, was released, and therefore not in the picture.
I did notice 3 of the 4 trout had been cleaned (gutted). I did not think the large fish, picture with the dead ones, was alive. Now I am crystal clear.
have caught only one trout in the 21" length class. It was caught in a lake, weight was 3.2lbs, and a real nice fish. Your 21" was the same length, but nearly 2lbs heavier. The belly of the fish must contain some very large contents. Like a turkey dinner, with two helpings of all the fixins. Topped off with minnow and escargot for dessert.
That is a trophy class wild trout.

12/2/2012 12:50:00 AMMotoboat, you made me smile at that. The large one in the picture was the 5.5lber. If I can, I will get a pic on here of how wide it was compared to the others. Remember, the ones by it were 2lbs, and they look tiny next to it. The whole fish was surprising compared to the two pounders. I didn't think much of it when we first netted it, but we did use two different scales and both came out the same. As for what was in its belly? I'm not sure, but the think was chunky.
