Headed to Seven Bays Friday morning with hopes of catching limits to help a friend celebrate his 40th birthday. left the ramp about 7:45 and started trolling upstream right out of the bouys. just as we approached the first bay it was fish on! Great start. then nothing on the next two passes so we took off for Whitestone. Made two passes in the first bay on the right without a bump. Kept trolling downstream along the rocks and started catching some fish. After sitting out some hail and intense winds got back to fishing. Finished with limits by 3:00. All were caught on 3 colors of lead or my special longline setup-fill the spool half way with mono, tie in two colors of lead, then 50-60 feet of flourocarbon, which i run at 200'. Two were caught on an olive bunny, and eight on the Kekeda perch pattern. A big Thank You to Dave Browning who went out of his way to get me the flies tied before my trip. The last two trips out at least 80% of our limits were caught on that Kekeda perch pattern. i don't know why, but man it works! The other thing of interest is that in past years I have always used a 000 flasher in front of my flies, but this winter I have had my best success without a flasher. All ten of our fish were caught without flashers
