We launched at Seven Bays at 9:45 and motored straight down to Sterling Point. Four of us fishing, three with 2-pole endorsements, so we rotated different baits using downriggers, side-planers, leaded line and straight mono. The fish hit just about anything we put out, with orange being the hot color. The shallower fish tended to be smaller (14-16 inches and fat), with the 17-22 inch carry-overs hanging out a bit deeper, but still within 15 feet of the surface. Rapalas, squidders and flies all worked. The biggest fish hit flies, and the best of those were on an orange/black Kekeda on leaded line, out three colors. Kekedas have definitely been the most productive trolling flies in my boat the last two seasons. We finished our limits within three hours, and spent a couple more hours on a leisurely cruise back up to the launch. A outstanding day on the water!

Great job Craig! That sounds like a fun day experimenting and having success with all of those methods. Those are some great looking fish. Thanks for the report. -Dave
