I have never posted here but visit frequently to see how fishing is, and what types of tackle are being used. The information here has been priceless. Thank you to all for sharing as I know we're all in this together. It's now time for me to give back to those who have shared with me.
Launched at Lincoln around 8:00 and headed south. Didn't have any perch Kekeda's ( I will be ordering) but had a perch pattern streamer with a marabou body so I threw it on my 5 weight with type 6 sinking line, 50' of 8 lb. fluorocarbon and lots of backing. I was back at least 100'. Trolled into the bay just down from Lincoln around the net pen and this big fella took me down. Correct me if I'm wrong but to me this is a Triploid. All the other trout I've hooked have been more of the slender type like a steelhead. I didn't know there were Triploids above GC? Hooked another 20" with perch pattern rapala and my buddy hooked a couple 18" on an orange apex with a worm trailer. After leaving the bay, we fished down past the rock walls along about a half mile of rocky sandy beach toward Sterling. I switched up to my tried and tested red and green wedding ring w/ a worm and 00 dodger. Every point held fish and we started hooking Kokanees. Fished in 30' of water. Got our limits. I was trying to get to Sterling but never made it. Thanks again to all for sharing. Love this fishery and the quality of the fish in my opinion can't be beat. Especially with a fly rod in hand.
Cheers

Thanks for the report. Lots of triploids in the lake but can't really tell what you have. Locals down there from the bank have been catching several carry-overs that have eggs in them. How big were the kok's? They have been catching them but they are small right now, 10 to 14"

This was a buck and the Kok's were exactly that 10-14". There were some bank fishermen in the bay but didn't see any of them hook any while I was there.

Clipped fin is hatchery raised and released. They only release triploids so they are sterile and wont reproduce. The net pen program is triploids. There are several videos out there explaining the how to tell on triploids. I always release fish that have there adipose fin just in case of native. If I am wrong please correct me.

To my knowledge, you are correct moose, at least in regard to triploids. Roosevelt is unique, the trout and kokanee released there are not raised in hatcheries, they are raised in net pens in Roosevelt. I guess one could say they are nursery fish, as they raised in the very water they will be released in. Net pen fish get clipped but some are missed in the process and I've caught several with intact adipose fins that were clearly released from net pens (rubbed fins). ;-)
