Sorry for the delay in the report. Went out Wednesday morning with my brother and his friend. We launched at Seven Bays with no problems at the launch. The road down to the marina was compact snow and ice but we just slowed down and had no issues. Started fishing at 8:30 with first fish at 8:32. Didn't even have the second rod set out before the fish hit that orange Kekeda. We thought this is going to be a fast and furious day... not exactly. Finished making that pass heading downstream from Seven Bays towards Hawk Creek and got two Kokanee spread apart. Tried whipping back around but to no avail. Kept heading downstream and eventually made it into Hawk Creek. Trolled the shoreline heading back up into Hawk Creek but didn't get a bump. Decided with two hours left to fish and only 3 fish we needed to head somewhere else. Motored over to A rock and as I'm letting out a perch Kekeda and set it in the downrigger it pops off. I grab the clip to put it back in and the pole starts dancing. My brother's friend starts reeling and says it feels big. As it gets closer we see a pretty big flash down in the water. After a good little fight I scoop the net under a healthy 21 1/2" Rainbow. Biggest fish of the day. Kept trolling the rocks and picked up 5 more trout before we called it a day. Couldn't find a good enough clump of fish to stay in one area though. They definitely made us work for them that day. Ended the day with 2 Kokanee at 17" and 7 trout ranging from 16" to 21 1/2". Next biggest trout came in at 18". Turned out to be a beautiful day out on the water considering the 8 degree launch temperature.

Started fishing with one chartreuse wedding ring, one orange Kekeda and a pink Kekeda. The pink Kekeda was hot today catching 5 of the 9 fish including the two Kokanee. Wedding ring didn't pick up anything so on went the perch Kekeda and picked up 2 with the orange picking up the other 2. Didn't fish a dodger or blade on any of the setups. Depths ranged from 9' to 15' on the downriggers with our middle rod out three colors of leaded line. Speed was 2.4 mph and flies tipped with worm. Fish seemed to be hanging out over about 100' of water. Not the fast and furious day we were hoping for at the beginning but we squeaked out a productive day with plenty of fish for the smoker. Stopped fishing at 1:30.

Kekeda Tackle Co. is a local company offering high quality trolling flies. The perfect trolling fly for waters around the Pacific Northwest. Offered in a variety of colors at reasonable prices. 509-202-5135

That's a great report Dave. Those are nice looking fish. My only regrets for you is that you weren't able to catch more! I'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy Rosy! Way to put in the effort and thanks for the info.

Dave: Awesome pictures. Wish we were there. We were going to come over on Monday for 5 days, but it's going to get nasty on the passes so we are waiting for another clear spell of a week or so on Snoqualime before we come. Hopefully it happens.

My truck Thermometer said 8 when we launched on Wednesday down at Keller, I didn't think it was that cold but if that is what you had then I guess I should believe what it said. Glad you did good, it was a good day to be out.
Happy New Year,
Mark

Nice fish Dave! Hoping to get out once I get over the crud that's been going around. Every time I go out in the weather it seems to come back with a vengeance. :-(

Enjoy seeing everyone's pics and reading reports!
