Roads out of Spokane were really slick - 25 to the bridge was in good shape. Got out of the house to play wintetime
beach bum and see if I can at least catch dinner of a couple of trips/rainbows. Tried everything, powerbait, chartruese,
rainbow and olive/garlic - caught one on each color - a 22" and 2 ea., 15-16". Gave worms a try and all I got were hits
and lots of hooksets, but no hook-ups - also tried cocktail shrimp with anise scent - also lots of hits and no hook-ups.
There were a lot of hard hits on the powerbait, but no hook=up - tried smaller hooks, #8 and #10 and still no more
hook ups. Air temp at 8:00 was 27deg and 2:00 was 35 deg. There was one other fishing in the area and it looked
like he picked up two. The best day fishing is better than ...................

That Rosy's a big body, where abouts were you fishing from? Thanks for the info on the baits. I'm all in on the day of fishing is better than...

Kevinbe, Rosy may be big, but a change in level does affect fish behavior - went again yesterday (1/8) and the lake was down 4-5' from
Tuesday's level and the bite was almost non-existent. There were 4 boats launched at Ft. Spokane, I talked to one of them and they
said the same thing - if we got two fish we were lucky and they were the dinks too - no size to anything I saw caught. I'm out of the SW side
of Spokane, retired and can pretty much go like the cat, when I want, where I want, and try to catch dinner. All fish I saw caught yesterday
from the bank were on powerbait, mostly orange - tried worms and shrimp and all kinds of scent and nothing at all. Hook size is now
down to #12, small wad and only one marshmallow - scent seemed to repel them.

That's good info. I love bank fishing trout in the winter. I've previously only used worms and mallows, with limited success. I've noticed recently having better success since switching to power bait.
