Sorry this post is late, it’s been a busy week at work, but I wanted to share.

We got the boat in the water and launched at Porcupine by 7:15, and then headed up river to some of our usual spots above and below can five. Burrrr, it was colder that morning than it has been lately. Once there, we took a few minutes to thaw out and warm up, we got the gear out and everyone rigged up, and jigs in the water. The burbs were not cooperating at first, but after about 15 minutes into a drift, Mark broke the curse with the first hook up, and got the first one in the boat. From that point on, thanks to Mark’s great piloting skills, keeping us in the deep holes and channels, we had almost constant action for the next couple of hours. We lost a few and threw some smaller ones back, but I took my limit, and between Mark, his daughter and her friend, we managed to get seven more in the live well.

The average for the day was 23” and 3 lbs. 3 oz. The largest was 26” and 3 lbs. 15 oz.

What a great way to spend a Sunday morning on the lake! We had a great morning of fishing, got off the lake by 12:30-1:00 and back to Spokane in time for the Super bowl.

Glad that worked out. Once you have it figured out. .....they're a lot of fun to catch, cleaning seems to stink waaaaay less if you get them just about frozen before you start.

I haven't noticed a smell... yet.
We've been filleting them as shown in this video https://youtu.be/4zWORf4OEVE No bones no fuss. Not a ton of meat on these but it is really good white fish.
