I spent another beautiful day fishing for trophy kokanee with another great crew from the Seattle area. Due to the quality of these fish and great lodging prices my guest are traveling a long distance to get in on the action and catch the largest Kokanee they have ever seen. I love happy customers.

The day started out with a bang. It usually doesn't take long to land our first fish. Several times I ran my planer board into 10 feet of water, which accounted for 4 hook ups. Pink apex and my custom shrimp flies seem to be getting the job done lately. The bite seem to be a little slower today possibly due to the unsettled weather. We managed to land five kokes while losing another four. Not a bad day. Especially when one of these fish will feed four people.

Water seems to be getting a little cloudy. I'm not sure how this is going to affect the bite, but I guess I will find out soon enough.

Feel free to jump on my Face Book Page an give it a "Like". This will allow you to stay current on my promotions and trip updates. Thanks again to all of you Northwest Fishing Report members that have fished with me over the last two months. I have enjoyed your company and look forward to meeting many more of you.

Nicely done! Do you mind sharing if you run a dodger with the apex? I have run an apex every time I've been out, but I haven't landed a single koke on one, though I have had a great season with flies and hoochies.

I do run a small dodger 24-36". Closer to 24 right now. Two kernels of corn max. I feel more than that kills the action.

Great job Dave! That top koke is a hog!! Was out yesterday myself, sort of impromptu, afternoon only, and managed one 18" koke on, of all things, a perch pattern Rip'n Minnow at about 2.3mph. Saw a lot of unusual and interesting things on sonar yesterday I've never seen before. Thanks for your reports. :-)
