Well, I just couldn't stay away.

For some reason I hit the lake at 5am. For some reason the fish didn't really wake up till around 7 am. There were four of us this morn looking for more trophy kokes. It took a little searching till we found a small pod of bighters. Once the fish decided they were hungry the action was pretty fast. About the time we boated our last koke, two more rods went off before we had a chance to reel in all the gear.

All the bites today were at 50-55'. Wiggle hoochies and coho killers seemed to be the ticket today. 7 of our kokes wighted between 3.25-3.8 pounds. What beauties.

A special thanks to Rob Holman for his great work on our Kokanee video now available on this site. What a great way to remember the hot action at lake Roosevelt. The video looks awesome Rob. Thanks a lot.

Now that Sockeye is finally open on the Columbia, most of my time will be dedicated to that pursuit. I will be making trips back to Roosevelt, so if you would like to join me feel free to contact me and we can get something scheduled. I dub this year, "The Year of the Koke".

Tight Lines, and good luck.

Captain Dave;
Thanks again for the tips on catching these beauties. A few I've caught have some eggs, what happens to these fish when it is time to spawn?
