11/16/2016 9:59:00 AMLenny Mayo years ago showed at a clinic how to do it. I looked it up on line and it is called the "Willis Knot". Blood knots and nail knots can be difficult and bulky, This is a slick knot and it holds great. YouTube has a video and an animation version. Hope this helps.

11/16/2016 10:51:00 AMWe use the Willis knot, as well. Although I started using 2 overhand knots as I had the mono slip out one time. Goes through the guides great.

11/17/2016 7:29:00 AMI used the Willis knot in the past, but have changed to using micro barrel swivels instead. When I use the Willis knot, I always do so with 2 overhand knots for the very reason weld22 mentioned. This is especially an issue with thinner diameter 6lb fluorocarbon leader. Probably the best knot to join mono/fluorocarbon to leaded line is the double uni knot. My fingers just can't handle tying unis anymore and my patience went the same place as my dexterity. ;-)

11/20/2016 1:08:00 PMI have found tying double uni's works better me if I tie both sides with the same hand. Put in the first one then flip the line around to do the second one. All of that said I am with Hewesfisher. I use a small swivel that will go through the pole guides and reel to join the lead core to the leader.; helps to eliminate line twist if tangled too.
