11/18/2016 1:50:00 PMI will be staying near desert aire for thanksgiving until Saturday. Any suggestions for someone new to this fishery keeping in mind that I will be stuck on bank as I don't have a boat?

11/18/2016 8:01:00 PMI have never been there so this is speculation, but if you look at Google earth images, there are lots of dirt/gravel roads leading down from hwy 243 to the river above and below whitefish island. I have no idea if they are gated or if the land is public or private. if you can get onto them, you should be able to get to the shore right below the island....if.

11/20/2016 7:26:00 AMTry the gravel pit just above the power lines. You may get hung up a lot so use a slinky for weight, years ago we would use speedometer cable but that's hard to come by any more. Power bait maggot looking things work well too. Good luck!
