Made my first fall fishing trip to Roosevelt Saturday, launched at Lincoln About 9 am wind was blowing and kind of choppy but headed down towards sterling, as we left the launch I thot it seemed like we were missing something an I soon realized we were.....the net! I knew right where it was, hanging on the wall in my shop 2 hrs away...Decided to make the best of it an go fishing we could just wing them in the boat right? Started fishing just up river from Sterling 2 poles leaded line 3 colors & 2 poles on the DR 12'-15' down an 95 ft set back. 1 orange fly 1 perch color 1 orange & black and 1 gold body with some black & red trolling speed 2-2.5 mph. First fish came rite into the boat who needs a net...? Well it kinda went down hill from there, you do need a net, lost a lot of fish 4ft from the boat, we did get 8 in the boat 1 was a nice fat 20''. Didn't keep track of all we lost but I'm sure it was 10-15 fish, all rods produced about the same no one color was any better than the others, all in all a great day of fishing and the net IS in the boat ready for round 2! Kekeda Flys are my favorite, keep up the good work Dave....

Glad to hear the flies worked for you! I appreciate you using them and sharing your success. I've been there in the same net situation. It makes a world of difference doesn't it! They won't know what hit 'em next time when you have the net. Again, thanks for sharing the report and great job out there. -Dave

Those Kekeda flies are, IMO, the best trout trolling fly made and are Roosevelt rainbow can't resist them! Thanks for the nice report.

Public Service Announcement - Rules for Roosevelt are changing sometime in December and ALL native trout (kokanee excluded) with an intact adipose fin will have to be released. Please see the news release here - http://wdfw.wa.gov/news/oct0716a/
