I pre-rig 16", 13", and 10" leaders. This time of year, I start with 16". I will go to 13" if needed. Depending on dodger brand, troll speed etc, just make sure the spoon is moving side to side. If the spoon is showing no action then either speed up the troll or go to 13". Hope this helps!

4/30/2017 4:04:13 PMYou are amazingly successful with those darn spoons! Even when other skilled fishermen aren't. Ive been trying to to decide if you just really know your stuff or if your spoon has some awesome unique action.
Are there any vids of your spoons in action? I'm curious what the heck they look like at trolling speed...
Do you find that bait kills the action of these things? Like a dick nite dies with one kernel of corn.... Thanks.

There are no videos showing the spoon in action that I am aware of, probably would require an underwater camera attached to the line. Bait definitely alters the action from what the spoons were designed for. If bait is put on the hook, a dodger would be required to provide action to the spoon as the bait would kill the action of the spoon. Thank you for the generous comment! The best thing I can recommend is for you to buy one and check out the action to answer your questions. As you correctly stated, the spoon does have a unique action for certain. Also, it is a reversible spoon meaning there are 2 different actions available on every spoon. I'm just an average angler at best but what helps me is owning all 12 patterns and using them as needed to find the pattern the fish want when it comes to trout. On kokanee, I use up to 5 patterns and different leader lengths if needed. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to private mail me:)
