WDFW started planting Kokanee 3 years ago I wonder if they are the copods that are showing up in other lakes on the west side.

5/20/2017 6:23:03 AMThe fish had them in side gills and attached along the body was no spot we did not find them and yes they look identical to the copods found on those kokes I have only ever seen this one other time on one fish

5/20/2017 8:02:02 AMI do think I read that they are found in the lake the WDFW get's the Kokanee eggs from. So I wonder if they have imported them into lakes that were once co-pod free. Most of the reports I have read they seem to cause death due to the lack of O2 absorption in the gills. I know that in one of the lakes I fish for Kokes I didn't pick nearly as many and was later in the year and smaller fish. But since they are cyclic I just attributed it to an off year. But I will pay more attention since the lake used to be self sustaining on the Kokes and I see where they planted fry in the last few years.
