We started fishing about 10am with sunny skies and water temperature that was 70 but went to 71 by the time we were done at 1pm. The forecast was for mid-70’s. The lake was at 1,204 feet of elevation (maximum of 1,207 feet). There were a few fishers trolling out of the Alder Lake Park launch. As well as pleasure boaters.

I was stacking my rods 10 feet apart. Using dodgers of Pink Splatter and Orange/Copper Tractor Tread with Wannfish A Lures Pink Splatter Squiddy and Orange and Gold. I got my stuff in first because Kim brought her grandson Terrance and she was helping him. Within 10 minutes I had a double. I got the top in by just heaving it into the boat the second on the lower rod I thought I could just heave over the gunwale like the other but it was heavier and hit the side of the boat and slid back into the water to swim some more. Well you know how it goes…thought we were going to have a fast and furious day. Nope that was the tail end of the 10 o’clock bite. We had bites and fish to the boat or net but the day had to end with just me catching 2 kokanee (I think one is the biggest I have gotten at Alder, I think) and 2 cutthroat. Terrance and Kim each had 1 or 2 that got off. I did have a nice trout about 16 inches that got off at the net as well.
I spent most of the time with the downriggers at 30-40 feet. With my stacked lines at 20-30 or 30-40. I had bites at all those levels.

I started up the big motor to end the day. That was Terrance’s fun time. Going fast. Of course the motor ran perfect because I was selling it later!
The video is long but there is a lot of what happens under the water. While you are on your body of water all this maybe happening at your lures under the water.

HI Toni. Where did you launch? I will be near Alder this week and might give it a try. Thanks

Thanks for the video. What camera system did you use? Can you get a live feed while using or only recorded data? Interesting how many fish came up and turned away. Wonder how many you would have hooked with a longer trailer hook attached? ;-) What speed were you trolling?

Water Wolf. Not real time. I had a longer trailer hook. I have now taken it off. I was going (trying to go) 1.27-1.38mph

Thanks Toni. I would like one of those cameras, but only about 25% of the people reviewing it gave it a really positive review. Seems it has a lot of issues and some poor design features. Please post any feedback from your experience and how long you have been using it.

Well, I bought one over a year ago. Then I bought another (v1.1) for my other rod this year. If you have questions email me at [email protected]
