Finished up my keeper sturgeon season with guide Shane Reynolds of Northwest Fishing Expeditions. We had a tremendous day with 14-15 fish to the boat including a couple of oversized. One was a huge 9-10 foot river monster!

With upcoming closure of this fishery I was pleased for the chance to hop on with Shane, some clients, and NWFR members Lee & Patty Howe. We filmed the trip for an upcoming NWFR TV episode and online video.

We launched from Kettle Falls State Park and headed up river to Marcus Flats. Shane was looking for water 50-60' of water. Pickled baits on 5 rods. Squid seemed to be the favorite.

Bites usually occurred within 20 minutes or Shane moved us. The action seemed concentrated in the morning. Shane proved affable, knowledgeable, and very good!

That sure was a lot of fun Rob! I'm still a bit sore from the battle with that awesome beast! Shane is an expert. He put us on those sturgeon and we were in the action almost immediately. Thanks for the incredible opportunity and thanks to Shane at Northwest Fishing Expeditions. Lee

That was a battle! Man vs fish 100%! Excited to look at the footage Lee. Thanks to you & Patty for your help getting it filmed. It was a lot of fun!
