I went to Rufus at the upper end from Seaton's Grove. It was almost 90 and the water 65. Marked triploids and walleye at 28' to 40'. I used small Rapala minnow shaped lures (3-4") in the very clear water. Gold/black and Silver/Black worked. Went between 2 oz and 3 oz weights.
Fishing was slow until the water was flowing from Grand Coolee. Then the fish were right on the edge of the current. It was slow but fish were there and hitting at times. I used long line trolling with about 160' out. Caught 8 keeper triploids in 4 days. Also located the walleye on the last evening. Largest only 2 lbs.
Beautiful scenery at Rufus. Saw some turkey and a black bear along with all the eagles and deer.
