Fished at Thomas Eddy this morning from 6:00am to 7:30am. I was using the old standbye, a 2.5 in. pink Buzz Bomb with a pink hootchie. A small school came up at about 6:30am, no more than 20 fish. None of them were biting. Not a bump, not a tap, not even a follow. Maybe they were still working up an appetite for breakfast, I know I can't eat that early in the morning. No fish movement after that. Usually at Thomas Eddy I wait until a biting school passes by, sometimes I stay until noon, but I usually get my limit. The key is to not give into temptation of giving up. Today I was limited by time constraints, so I left at 7:30. The coolest part of the fishing sesh today was when I saw a beaver doing some home improvement on its den today. We still have some hope though, peak season still isn't until the first week of September (at least in my experience), so don't give up. I'm probably gonna hit up Fort Casey this weekend. I've had a lot more action out in the salt than in the river. Tight lines.

Please report on your Fort Casey Trip. I would love to hear if any Coho are showing up there yet.

Leave the buzz bomb at home. Fish are very picky this year.

"peak" season is all of September and most humpy years goes well into October, this has been my experience. Lots of time left.
