So this report actually covers Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. Saturday morning the oldest and I hit the water before first light to see if we could find the crappies and it was foggy and I mean foggy. Once we got our bearings straight in the fog and got the poles in the water it was fish on with in seconds. First fish of the day a 10" rainbow and with in minuets another rainbow at about 12", after that the boy wanted to switch over to trout fishing but I stuck to my guns and by noon we had fished all over the lake and were only able to put 5 keepers in the live well and one perch that measured an impressive 12 1/2". Caught several trout and rock bass, even the occasional smallmouth. We loaded up at 1:00PM and headed home to work on the honey due list while the sun was shining. No pictures from Saturday, I am really not good at the whole taking photos thing.

Sunday afternoon the boy and I were back on the lake by 1:30 PM, went straight out from the boat lunch and started marking schools, only to find out they were perch and rock bass. Trolled all the way down to the swimming area by the camp before we started picking up any crappies. Ended the day with 11 keepers, they were a little smaller with the largest running 11", but no complaints from me. Had a great time with the kid catching fish and even worked in a little drivers training in the boat, typical kid, always had to have the throttle as far as it would go.

Most fish were caught on a line spinner with a #1 nickel plated Colorado blade and a fake minnow on a 3way dropper. The kid caught a few tossing a curly tailed grub. We did stop several times over the schools to stop and jig different jigs but couldn't get a bite, not sure why. Over the weekend we did catch a few more on the F5 Rapalas than on the last outing, hot steel and fire tiger were the better colors. And like I tell the kid, I know we catch more fish with the little silver blade than on the raps but when we do catch them on the raps they are generally the biggest and with the two pole endorsement what does it hurt to drag them around behind the boat. Over the weekend we caught a little bit of everything, rainbows, smallmouth, largemouth and rock bass, perch, bluegill and crappie. And of course the occasional stick fish.

Speed on Saturday morning was slow, .6 to .5 MPH, just enough to make the blade wobble, and Sunday the ticket was the 1 MPH mark.

Next weekend I'm convincing the kid we need to try some where else, but hey, its hard to leave fish to find fish.
