Had a good day fishing Lk Sammamish on Weds. Hooked up with Ben Eggertson and Pat Moore. Ben and Pat did most of the catching, I did most of the fishing. Thats the way it goes some days.

We ended up with 8 or 10 nice cutties in the boat and lost at least that many more. Fish were in the 15-17 inch range. Seems like the fish are still really scattered. We had to cover a lot of ground. Midges are starting to appear so fishing should pick up here real soon.

Pink or silver 1.8"Old Goats behind a dodger and a perch pattern needlefish behind a gang troll were the most productive setups. Curiously we didnt get a single hit on wedding rings with worm chunks. Hookups were anywhere from 0 to about 30 feet. Trolling speed 1.5-2mph. We did talk to another fisherman who was having good luck trolling needlefish at a much faster speed approx 3+mph.

Tight lines!
Randy

That's too funny, I didn't know who I was talking to yesterday after pulling out. Seen your reports on NWFR before. Now I have a face with a name. See you out there again sometime, no doubt. Cheers!

yeah... you're doing great out there! The midge Hatch will be picking up here in a couple weeks, and then the fishing should be at its peak for the winter. when the worm doesn't work, switching to a lure with more action like an Old Goat or spoon is a great option. Super Dipping Sauce or Pro Cure Trophy Trout scent work well, as well really anything with some garlic.
remember if you use bait or scent, every fish you catch counts towards the limit! -- I know you know that randy hahah, just if someone reading this was curious.

Great Catch my friend!

I case anybody doesnt know the bait/scent/limit rule, scent counts as bait so even if you release fish you can only catch 5.

Awesome report! Thanks! And congrats on getting some good ‘eaters’. Hope your boat mates at least let you have one to take home!
