1/7/2018 7:14:54 PMAin't that the damn truth, for a river of this size to have over 30 nets on it at one time is a absolute joke of a fishery... Just wait until you hear the proposal that WDFW is ready to doup us with on the skagit next year.. Do you remember the proposal that stated it was a catch and release fishery for winter steelhead? Well facts are in the paperwork that will allow the tribes to net the sauk, baker and cascade..... It's an absolute fucking joke to think they are able to net such small rivers and not think they are going to wipe that run completely out in just a few short years of netting......

1/8/2018 7:24:06 AMNe the Cascade ? Load of Crap, there is NO MORE planting steelhead in that river or raising in the hatchery. Damb shame how the Skagit system had dried up from a once world known fishery. The Chum is about all gone, we fished it for years and watched that dry up. Glad to see you found some fresh fish. Once they own the water rights in the State it's all over. Go talk with the guys that run the hatcher and ask them about the Steelhead, good times.

1/9/2018 6:38:21 AMNet schedules don't mean anything to the tribes. They were doing the same thing on the Hoh when everyone agreed to shut it down to low water, and again on the Quileute but worse. Funny how they keep blaming the sportsman for depleted runs when they choke the rivers like this. Sounds like the Puget sound wont have a salmon season for ten years after this years "negotiations", all over one run that is you guessed it, heavily netted.
