My fishing partner and I are old school, both in our mid to late 70's, non-tech types and we still use film type camera's. I can only say the Lake Washington Cutthroat that we took home yesterday were drop dead gorgeous fish especially the one 22 inch fish. This has always been a good time of the year for the area between Thornton Creek and McAleer Creek. Check it out on Google. Another very good downrigger trolling area is Champagne Point to Juanita Point. We might want to give that area a try the next time we are on the big lake. Lake Sammamish is a Gem during the winter months, however, Lake Washington at this time of the year, especially in its north end area, beats the heck out of Lake Sammamish 50 ways to Sunday.

I do have a digital camera but I don't know how to upload a pic to the internet and not really interested in finding out. I know where Juanita Pt is but not Champagne Pt?

4/1/2018 8:58:56 PMUsing a Macks 4 Inch silver Sling Blade with a UV insert in combination with a Silver Horde Ace Hi Fly Junior with UV in the blue spatter back type trolled with downriggers at the 40 to 50 foot level is now a deadly combination for those big LW Cutthroat. That lure somewhat resembles the small fish that these big Cutthroat are now feeding upon. I'm not sure but I think they may be young sockeye. I like to do a zig-zag fishing pattern as I troll through the mentioned area in 80 to 100 feet of water at a speed of 1.4 to 1.8 MPH. That speed using a 16 inch leader to the lure seems to impart an irresistible fish connecting action. Add a touch of the mentioned Smelly Jelly but only to the head end of the Junior next to the eyes. Do not put it on the remaining areas of the Junior as that can distort the winged action. What you want to achieve is a nice fluttering action with the Junior.. My partner and I will try to get out on the lake in the same area that we fished last week if our wives allow it and only if we have minimal wind activity on the big lake. Hope this helps.
