Decided to swing by the lake and make a few casts between grocery shopping and dinner, so I knew I only had less than half an hour before the phone would ring if you know what I mean...but boy am I glad I made the pitstop. Wasn't expecting much as it was still too early for the evening bite, I think only around 5:45pm...just goes to show you never know. Third cast and caught not only my first LMB of the year but the biggest one I've ever caught from shore. Had a bystander walking their dog take a few photos for me before getting mamabass back in the water asap...guy said it was the biggest fish he had ever seen caught. Had me shaking afterwards...too much adrenaline pumping through the veins, hahaha. I was ready to call it a day, but made a few more casts to calm down a bit and on my last cast ended up hooking into what might be the biggest rock bass I've ever caught and definitely the fattest. Not a bad way to spend 15-20 minutes =).
