First cast about 7:15AM. Sunny clear skies and water was smooth as glass.

Pull up to a shoreline and start off with jerkbait. 2nd cast in and fish on! Woooo, that's a fast start. Jumps once, looked like a LMB. Jumps a 2nd time and it pops off. Not a giant, but around the 2# size. Then it was pretty quiet for about 20 mins.

Start working a flat and got a bump but miss. It comes back and fish on! Oh man it's a little LMB, maybe 8" at best. I keep chucking that jerkbait and I get another bite. Fish on! I see it has a buddy fighting for the lure too. I also spot 2 LMB behind them looking curiously. The buddy snags onto my lure and now I have 2 fish on! LOL. I reel it in slowly and that 2nd one pops off. I see it continues to steal the lure and it's I get 2 fish again! I get it by the boat and same fish pops off. Oh well, still landed one of them. Both were barely 1#ers. The LMB were in the 2 to 3# range. Found out they were on a bed there. Pitched lures at it for about 10 mins of them not biting and gave up.

I see surface active, so I toss my jerkbait into the mix. Almost instantly, fish on! Feels like a decent fish. Does a quick jump and see it's a SMB. Biggest bass of the day @ 2.44#. After releasing that fish, I see more splashing at the same spot. Toss it out and set the hook again. BOOOO, i foul hook a squawfish on it's back. Do my duty and release it back into the water. I see it floating a couple of mins later. I continue fishing that area for a while and I hear a crow overhead. I look up and see it's chasing an eagle. The eagle spots the squaw and is circling around me. I can see the eagle is ready to make a grab. Snap this shot just in time. Pretty cool.

I see more commotion on the surface but nothing wants to bite my jerk. I pitch my dropshot out and barely felt the bite. Set the hook and it's another decent SMB. Another 2# or so.

Ended the day with 11 bass, 1 squaw, 1 perch. 3 bass were in the 2# range, handful were 1#, and more than expected 6-10"ers. All fish caught on jerkbait, except for 2 on the dropshot in 15-17' of water. Ran a shallow crank for a while but no bites on it.

It's possible. When I got there, there was 2 guys at the dock heaading out fishing. 2 in a red skeeter bass boat came flying towards me from across the lake. Dont think the driver saw me. Got up to drop the trolling motor. Saw me, and then pulled further out. Also saw a red/tan boat fishing some docks on the east side. And AMX found me near the end of the day.

Great Eagle picture, the timing was perfect. Slow today, but I spent all my time in Largie water. Got 3 good ones, lost a couple good ones, had a few other nibbles, saw a few more, with 4 or 5 in one bunch following the 2.9 Largie on my crankbait..

Nice eagle shot! I was out on Sammamish for the first time yesterday, didn't get there until later (10:30) with my kayak. About 20 minutes after I got there I saw some surface activity on the shore to the left of the boat launch (as you are looking out at the lake). Paddled over there and it was 4-5 huge carp flopping around, didn't have anything to entice them and wasn't getting any bass action so started trolling for a bit with a kastmaster as I don't have any gear to get down deep while trolling and ended up getting a nice cutthroat.
