We had another great morning fishing Jeff Head for resident Coho. Lots of nice fish out there and they are very willing. Round trip in about 2 hours. Had 8 or 10 fish on inc a couple Blackmouth, lost a couple, C&R a couple and took four nice fatties home.

They arent summer run size but they really are quality fish, 19-20 inches and 2.5-3lbs. For a really great time, leave your salmon rod at home and try a light steelhead rod. (Mine is an Okuma SST) These critters fight like bandits if you give them a chance.

We fished the SE corner of Jeff Head in about 150 of water, outgoing tide, 65-70 on the cable. Hot lures today were the Old Goat OG2 in pink/green and a new saltwater spinner from FlashyFish with a herring teaser. Red Racer and Purple Haze flashers. 40 inch leaders.

Tight lines

We were out there too that day for our first trip there this year. Can’t believe how many coho are out there. Had coho hit our lures at the top of the water while bringing gear up or setting up our downrigger 4 times.
