Not meaning to stir it up, but I don’t see a ‘dropper’ as clearly indicating ‘snagging’. I consider snagging as a verb. The dropper is a noun. (2nd hook below 1st). Dropper flys are as common as anything... so anyone fishing a dropper fly, size 22, size of a knat, is snagging. Regardless that Riverhunter was fishing a dropper under a jig, different setup... but just saying... I didn’t see him SWING hard on the hook set??
Don’t even know Riverhunter, but he has always posted legit/worthy reports.

"Anti-Snagging - Rule Except when fishing with
a buoyant lure (with no weights added to the
line or lure), or trolling from a vessel or floating
device, terminal fishing gear is restricted to a
lure or bait with one single-point hook. Hooks
must measure ¾" or less from point to shank,
and must be attached to or below the lure or
bait. Weights may not be attached below or less
than 12" above the lure or bait"
The only legal multihook setups in areas with anti-snagging rules in effect are lures that float(plugs).
Jigs and droppers aren't floating lures.
Pg 35-36 has all the sky regs and the section he is fishing has anti-snagging rules in affect.

8/15/2018 4:56:58 AManti snagging rule isnt in effect during that time of year. If you are going to attack me first look up the regs. PG 36 all species August 1st throught November 30 anti snagging rule in effect. This post if for June 1st which is clearly not in between those 2 dates. Trust me I know my regs and the rules and a dropper rig is legit from June 1st to July 31 and then again Dec 1st up until the river closes. The anti snagging rule is there to ensure you are not using 2 hook setups when the salmon are running.

8/15/2018 9:19:28 AMThank you guys for clarifying that to the chemist. This is another reason I was questioning myself if I should even post this report. When I post reports it is usually to help others get an idea of what has worked for me in the past or is working for me at the moment.

8/15/2018 10:17:26 PMThis post is an example of exactly why you DO need to post reports.... the knowledge and experience you bring to the table is game changing for some people that otherwise wouldn't know. It is a display of fact. Not hearsay or rumor, it is correct understanding of the regs. That has now clarified this question to possibly dozens of readers. Don't view these remarks negatively (regardless of originial intent) Your report is a complete success. and way to innovate, and use a technique that i think we can all agree is thinking-out-of-the-box so to speak.

8/19/2018 10:33:15 AMRiverhunter, he wasn't attacking you. It appears it was his interpretation of the rules, which can be very confusing. I have even had DFW enforcement personnel admit they have issues with the wording in the pamphlet at time.
