Glad you had such a good trip. I used to fish up in BC a lot. I really miss it. First time was in 1956 at Loon lake near Cash Creek when I was 8 years old. That trip got me hooked on fishing in BC. I can vouch for Old Goat lures too. Have used them successfully the last couple years for lake fishing behind a lead core line with 50 feet of 15 pound leader. Especially the perch color you mentioned. It also works great in the 2.88 inch size. So does the 2.44 inch florescent orang one. Anyway, way to go. We hope to head over to Conconully lake for Kokanee next week for a few days if the smoke isn't too bad. Tight lines to ya.

8/14/2018 10:01:34 PMThanks strikezone, I've also fished Loon lake many years ago as a kid. Also Nimpo lake when the last 150 miles was gravel road! There's just something special about fishing in the interior of BC.

8/15/2018 10:44:27 AMBoy does Nimpo ring a bell. Both my uncles fished that lake back in the early 50's. I've been out that way sorta one mid October timeframe to fish Fir lake in the late 80's. It's up northeast a little about 40-50 miles west of Williams Lake. There was 2 feet of snow on the level out there and snowing hard. Fished it for a couple hours and then got outa there. But the fish were all 25 inches and chrome brite. Trolled black injected leech on a hi-d fast sinking fly line was the ticket. Sometime I need to write down all the lakes that I've had the pleasure of fishing in BC. It's been a bunch, both on the west and east side of the Provence. Good memories! Glad you still are enjoying it up there. Keep it up. Denny

8/15/2018 1:06:08 PMJust a friendly reminder, not all lakes should be named on the open internet, if the locals catch wind of some of these lakes are being aired out in public they may react unpleasantly towards folks with american plates.. sheridan is totally good to go, its no secret, but you named one that probably shouldve been left unsaid......hell the locals dont even like lower mainlanders let alone americans. All im saying is that it is unadvisable to name these lakes on the internet. But your choice. Good luck.

As for jonb's comment, I know what you are trying to point out but with this report and the ensuing comments there was nothing done or mentioned that was inappropriate. We mentioned a few other lakes in passing that myself and another member had fished 20+ years ago. This site is for the purpose of discussing your experiences while fishing lakes in the region and in most cases sharing info on these lakes, not just putting up pictures and reports on secret spots.

8/16/2018 2:24:35 PM Your report is 100% fine. Absolutely nothing wrong with naming sheridan. Its a well known lake that everyone knows about. Its the other guy randomly name dropping certain lesser known lakes. Fortunately for me, it is NOT a lake or area i frequent, but i do know guys who do fish there that will be VERY unimpressed when i tell them about this. Its sad that you guys don't get it when it comes to hotspotting. Its a consideration to others who use the resource, just because you learn about a spot doesn't mean you should tell the entire internet about it, even if it was 20 years ago. Ohh well.
