The coho usually run through november, but that low water will slow it right down. The later (b run?) coho are usually the bigger brighter fish in the upper river. Ive caught them into january all the way up at flaming geyser park. Beware, ive had my truck broken into at the park n ride and the upper lot on green valley. Lots of homeless in the woods around there. I quit fishing there.

10/16/2018 3:23:58 PMYeah, it's really low. Made for an interesting hike checking out some new holes that I hadn't seen before. Definitely a lot of homeless down there in those woods...Most of them are well concealed...You don't see their tents until you come around the corner on one of the trails...Probably came across at least a dozen camps...Some of them are way out in the middle of nowhere...I was sure to give them a wide berth...I figure they're out there like that for a reason. Talked to one of the guys...A younger dude smoking weed...He was friendly enough. Told me he noticed the fish seemed to be a little more active first and last half hour of daylight.
Thanks for the heads up about the parking situation out there...That area has been a risky place to park for as long as I can remember...Seems to be that way in far too many places for us fishermen these days...Sorry to hear about your truck being broken into there...How long ago was that?
Thanks for the info about the coho run there. Definitely hope the Coho run isn't over this year and the low water is just holding them up out in the salt. Noticed the Area 10 catch reports in the salt have slowed up recently too; although just a couple weeks ago I heard about some great catching still out at Seiku...Rain will certainly help us figure things out this year...Crazy weather we've been having...70's in October? Definitely not too typical.
Were those upper river fish still good table fare or were they pretty dark by the time they got up there? I'm guessing with higher levels and flows they could make it up there in a few days so probably still some pretty nice fish still that high up?

10/16/2018 6:52:20 PMDon’t think the coho have really even “started”. Right now it’s hit or miss to find smaller schools of coho on the green. Once we get that first rain it should be on fire though. I saw tons and tons of kings up high but little coho. Tight lines man

10/17/2018 1:07:21 AMThanks man...Same to you...They definitely push through in a hurry with even the slightest bit of rain...A few weeks back I was fishing in Kent and probably had a couple hundred Coho fly right past me jumping and joining the Kings as they too were on a mission to head up to the hatchery. Good to know there'll be more Coho on the way. I don't mind traveling to find fish but my time lately has been limited and so it's nice to go wet a line close by the house.
