10/29/2018 1:21:05 PMHello strikezone. That one is built on a #2 Gamu Spey style streamer hook for Roosevelt. Smallee for your average Kokanee lakes, and a 1/0 big river for sockeye.

Mark- Hi. Hope you have been able to spend lots of time out on the lake catching fish. I'm heading out on Tuesday and was wondering if you've had any luck fishing the orange colored shrimp yet? I have both types coming hopefully before Tuesday. I'll be fishing strictly for rainbows. If you have, do you stay with the same smile blade and chartreuse bead? Orange OG1's seem to work real good over here on the WET side in the fall especially. Thanks.

11/3/2018 6:06:38 PMI have to confess to being a smile blade addict. I hardly every put a fly out there without a smile blade, but in this case we ran the orange one without and got some fish with it also. It's just that we started with the pink one and couldn't really come up with an excuse to take it off. Generally with an orange fly I like the gold smile blade and with the pink a silver one. Really not to sure if a different colored smile blade on the pink would be a plus or not, just not nearly enough evidence to make a solid case. Capt. Dave's shrimp flies were new to me and the did good. Over the last few years the orange Kekeda with the gold smile blade and the small light green bead have been my standby.
