Congrats on the new boat! I got a new to me 14’ boat last year and have been wanting to take it out on lake Washington but haven’t had the time or confidence to do it yet. Mostly been on Sammamish with it so far which has been amazing.

3/26/2019 1:56:43 PMSo sorry for your loss, for these animals are our kids. The wife and I have 2 cats and they love and depend on us. We put another cat down 2 years ago and it wasn't fun at all, so I feel your pain. Just think about the good times you had with with your dog . Good luck and nice boat.

As for fishing Lake Washington with the #344, I think its somewhat too early for the area that you fished. The McAlleer Creek area and from Champaign Point down to Juanitta Bay is one of my favorites for really nice size Cuthroat. My last very recent trip to the area you fished drew a royal skunk. It should fish much better once we get into May and June given warmer water temperature.

3/28/2019 11:55:39 AMYep - that's the "catch 22". By the time the water is warm enough for the cutts to start playing nicely, the weather is warm enough that the wake surfing boats start showing up. At least that's what it's like on Sammamish. It really takes the fun out of fishing when some guy's wake is splashing in through the scuppers on the transom and rocking the boat all over the place.

Your picture above really pulled at my heart as that's the exact pose my Amber and I shared her last moments. I could not be there when they put her down, I'd done that before and vowed I'd never do it again.
Some say get another right away, but we waited a few months before bringing another yellow lab puppy home. She's 5 now and a still a goofy care free puppy. I still miss Amber and probably always will. :-(

3/28/2019 11:50:46 AMQF -- I'm currently raising a five month old black lab, and if how I already feel about this silly little girl is any indication, you must be hurting. I have a cat that's been my best buddy for 15 years, and she's clearly on the decline, so like Mike Carey, I'm starting to dread the inevitable. That's the most significant price we pay for all the years of laughter and companionship -- having to say goodbye.
Thanks for the report. I've been chasing cutts on Sammamish, and with the exception of one 8-hookup day, it's been really slow. The bright green stuff seems to be the most consistent, if you can call one fish per day a pattern.
I bought a new boat a year ago -- 18' Weldcraft Angler Open Tiller -- so I appreciate how much fun it is to spend time figuring stuff out. I'm still not where I want to be when it comes to approaching the docks with the jet pump in a crosswind. But I'll get there.
