A really fun day on Stevens yesterday. Great weather, a limit of nice fish, and learning some new stuff.

All my fish were caught from the surface to 20 feet using a 50/50 blue God's Tooth and a couple of home made wedding rings. Speed ran from .9 to 1.3 mph.

The surface temp was around 51° to almost 52° at 20 feet and then dropping relatively fast to about 44° at 60 feet.

I learned some new stuff thanks to Josh Hoines. He suggested using pre-made leaders with specific lengths (e.g., 10", 12", 14", 16" and so on). By having one pole with a shorter leader than the other you could get a feel for how much lure action the fish liked. Then by making sharp turns you could find the depth of the active fish. Okay, some of the times when a fish hit I didn't remember whether it was a left turn right turn or the leader length! I am going to have to work on my focus!

There were some schools deep and I did chase the meter marks with one pole. Zero bites. Has anyone had success chasing those deep schools?

It's hard to beat a good day on the water. Tight lines.

Congrats Ben on your limit! Glad to see the 50/50 blue helped bring some fish to the boat. Thanks for your report and support!

Nice job Ben! Great tip on leader lengths. Never know from day to day what those finicky kokanee want.

Isn't that the truth! Right about the time I think I am starting to figure them out, the kokanee say "not so fast my friend!"
