Day 6 Fishing - Potholes - Sunny, Temp mid 60's, Water temp 53, Mild to moderate winds. Fishing was SLOW today. Took us most of the day to figure out what would work. We were marking a few fish in the same spots as previously but nothing seemed willing to bite even on exactly the same bottom rigs as previous. So we started switching up rigs and finally came across the pattern/technique that was producing some fish. The fish were being ultra finicky. What finally ended up working was using the smallest smile blade possible (alternate color that I normally haven't used much) with just 2 beads and trolling ULTRA SLOW. Like .12 to .23. If a little gust of wind came up we were going backwards ..... lol. Finished with 5 fish, 2 very small ones released and a couple lost. Lot's of short strikes with bait mangled but no fish. One decent sized one.
