Hit Shadow Saturday morn....was a little late to the lake (for me) and was in the water by 6am. The full moon had me worried about today’s action. Trolled from some trout as I worked my way towards the end of the lake. Picked some trout but not even close to the action I got last week.

Been having a blast with my Bobber Jig combo and put it to work as I worked the edges. First fish was a shocker...a pure slab Blue Gill that popped my eyes open. Got another as I moved around some. Then I got into back to back Slab Crappie. I did not measure the first one but had to be close to a personal best. I quick lay down on a rod holder that was 11.5” and it was really close. Next one I netted and measured at 12”. Those were the only slabs of the day as I picked up many other Crappie, some Blue Gills a few LMB and a Perch all on the Bobber Jig set up.

Had to head in early as the Cottonwood choked off the hot shore line as it wrapped around my 2lb test so easily. Not many trout, but some darn good Pan Fish made it a fun day.

Nice fish TMBob. Shadow is a great little lake that is way underfished for sure. The pads near the old camp/resort hold nice fish at times. Also, if you get a chance try Spring Lake just down the road as well. The population of crappie is stronger. They seem to like the same baits as the fish in Shadow so you shouldn't have a problem getting into them out there. Best of luck this season.
