Apperenty the water temperature is perfect right now for these post spawn walleye, because these fish are actually starting to put up a bit of a fight. The biggest “tip” I can share with folks to improve your walleye hookup ratio is this: do not set the hook when bottom walking crawler harnesses. Just start reeling. Unfortunately I only have a few weeks of walleye left, and then it’s on to Sturgeon and possibly salmon. In addition to our walleye, we also sacrificed Many-o-worm to 15 or more rainbows we released. Mostly hard hitting 16” fish. It was a fun day for sure with my crew. I enjoyed sending them off with bags of fillets for many scrumptious meals.

I have several openings left for this fishery in the next couple of weeks. If you struggle to be a successful walleye catcher, chances are we can give you the tools needed to improve.

Tight lines and watch your backs. The snakes are getting trickier.

Good report. glad to here the Walleye are still hitting! The last comment about the snakes has me curious though. Was that just said as a joke, or are snakes a problem over there? Hate them!!!

More of a joke. This is the first snake I’ve encountered while on the water. It managed to climb up on my swim deck before we persuaded it to find a new hobby. I imagine you may find a few more if hiking was more your thing.
