I had Brown Trout fever all week after last Sunday’s out and headed back out for some more even though more wind then I would have liked was predicted.

My two sets were slightly different this trip as I removed the top layer set up for a Fly Rod/Reel and Type 6 sinking line to try some flies along side my Lead Core Set Up.

Wind was active but barely early in as I was again on the water before 6am. Right away the majority of the action of on the LC set up. Started to get more Browns then RBT and then the wind picked up so I only fished one rod. Worked the same areas but I also ventured down more towards the river which was a mistake as I ended up loosing 4 lures to snags which are not fun to deal with in the wind.

Again, the #3 Needlefish lures were good in Metallic Perch, Frog and Fire Tiger till I lost them all. Ended up with 8 Browns which were all stunning and about 10-12” with one going a solid 16”’s or so. Lost one other nice near the boat. 7 RBT mainly on the fly rod bore I had to give up fighting the wind in my 8’ pontoon.

I rarely handle fish and if I do I wet my hands, so the attempt at holding the 16”er and taking a pic did not come out well, sorry.

Now, when do I go there next is the question?
