Fished the P.O. river last couple of days in between the rain storms with spotty luck for smallies and an occasional crappie. We fished from the Newport to Furport. My grandson got a nice one on our last trip out. Water is at 70 degrees and dropping daily with good clarity. We've been using mister twister dark green body and light green tail 3" curly tail jig.

Thanks for the report river rat! You are the only one reporting on the PO River since your last report. What size jigs were you using? What condition is the river flow? Mt first trip will be next week and any tips are sorely needed and appreciated. Usk to Ione is our destination.

We usually go 1/4 to 3/16 oz jig head in 15' and under depth and with the lower flows around 13000 cfs they get down fast enough to hug the bottom. Good luck.

Thanks for the report RR. I've never fished the PORiver but have always wanted to. Not sure where to go with a large bass boat and camping with electrical outlets. Any thoughts? Looks beautiful over there!

Hey fish4bass haven't done much camping on the river but the tribe has put in a new campground at Cusick with full hookups and park model units to rent by the casino and store. They were still working on the campground Memorial weekend. Cusick has a decent boat launch and that area is fairly safe boating with lots of structure and sloughs to fish. I'm not sure but a tribal license is needed to fish the sloughs on the rez across from Cusick. Good luck.

Thanks for the report!!!
Sad to say my wife's family has had property up King's lake Road since 1944 and I don't think any of us have ever fished the river. Maybe It's time for me to do some exploring!!!!
