Opening day of the Brewster pool salmon fishery was without a doubt some of the best King Salmon fishing I've ever experienced. Less than two minutes into dropping my gear down I had hookup with my first King of the morning. The bite was consistent all morning with fish coming on both LEO and Pro-troll flashers paired with superbaits. In less than 90 minutes I had hooked seven or more Kings landed 4. Two were hatchery fish (18 and 6 lbs) and a couple wild Kings in the 8-20 lb range. I also caught a handful of Sockeye as well. 55' on the linecounter with 8-10 oz was most productive with red colored superbaits edging out most other colors.

Uplandsandpiper, great catches and great video, if you don't mind, what color Brad's cut plug worked best and did you stuff them with tuna and did you use any scents, what ever you were using seemed to be the right combination , never seen that type of flasher before on the yellow and blue rod setup?? And do you guess on what speed or do you have a fish finder that has the speed built in, sorry for so many questions, but I am a detailed type person, again great video, going to try the salmon burgers recipe for sure. Tight Lines and Keep Reelin!!

My most productive lures were original Superbaits and Cutplugs in the Hot Tamale or some variant of red and chrome. I stuff mine with tuna in oil spiked with anise and crawfish. The flasher on the yellow Swate rod is a LEO flasher. As for speed I was doing 2.7 with the current and 1.5 mph against it.

Did you fish the next days during the derby? Wondering if still lots of fish around and biting with all the pressure. Opening day was a day before the derby. Also, u know if lots of fish still below the dam coming up?

The bite did waiver in the following days but has since rebounded and I've heard of fairly high angler success from the Entiet to Well and in the Brewster pool over the last few days.

Your video's are very well rounded, including good content. Addition of a cooking segment was something I had hoped to see at some point.

What is your sustained top trolling speed in your pedal drive if removing elements such as wind, waved, and current? Have you ever capsized? I would think that would be a constant concern and something to prepare for?

In a more recent video he intentionally dumps himself to do a in the water recovery. It’s important to respect the water and have a game plan. On the boat a lot of outboard have a power trim switch. If you ever found your self in tue water by your self and have a power trim outboard with the trim switch back on the motor, you can get on the outboard and use the trim to lift you up and just slide over the motor and back into your boat. Slick.

Another great report, thanks. Would you mind commenting on your rod, reel, line setup? Didn't look like you were using really big stuff.
