I have been going to Curlew Lake for over 30 years. This year was probably one of the worst for trout fishing. What happened was that last summer was so warm that the fish that were being raised in the pens at the lake were starting to get diseased because the lake got so warm that they had to be released early and obviously not many survived. The hatchery where they get the rest of their plant had the same problem. We caught some large trout, one that was just over 4lbs. Probably about the same amount of hold overs that are normally caught but with out that years plants it sure made them seem few and far between.
