Caught 1 Coho Jack at 19" around 6:50. Daylight Bite. Blue Fox Spinner, Size 3 Blue with Silver Blade.

Plenty of fish around but not willing to bite. Tried floating two types of eggs with and without extra oils and sulfites. Tried twitchin hootchie jigs. Tried all different colors of spinners. Couldn't get any more bites. Saw a little more activity with jumping fish today. Even saw a nice sized Humpy buck breaking the surface, so there's still a few of those in the system as well. Also saw a couple nice sized bronze colored larger Kings jumping too.

Great morning to be on the water and was hoping for more than one but happy and thankful to have caught that. Perfect eater size for tonight's dinner :)

Oh and was happy when I noticed she was a hen. Bled her right away while still alive by just ripping her gills. Put her on a stringer and then when done fishing gutted her out right there placing the eggs in a ziplock. Looking forward to getting some cure on them later today.

Grilled alder smoked salmon for dinner!

Interesting! Well, I saw plenty of adults showing off with their acrobatics right in front of me, so I know they are in there. Also saw plenty of juveniles too...Almost wonder if that jack I caught is supposed to be an adult but due to ocean conditions came back a little on the small side. Interesting season so far for sure!

Been skunked on both the upper and lower river the last two days on eggs. Never had this hard of a time getting them to bite.

Yeah I hear ya...The other day I tried 2 kinds of eggs...Store bought Nate's and also some home cured Pautzke's...Couldn't get a bite on either...Even tried some with bite enhancers and some without. Some with scent and some without. Seems like it's pretty common trying to get these fish to eat eggs. That's why I always bring my hardware rod and even then felt lucky to nab this hen. Hoping for plenty more!
