Camped on Tivoli Island, got out on the lake in around 6am. First time fishing Ozette, overcast morning with breaks of sun, water temp was between 68-72'f. Started out throwing topwater in Swan Bay, shallow water, lots of pads & grass. Looked extremely fishy, but only managed one small bass on a black & blue spinner bait & several squawfish and perch. Made our way around to boot bay, all the way to the toe around 0900. Instantly started smashing largemouth. Casting same spinnerbait with no trailer 6" from the bank, my buddy was throwing a perch pattern chatterbait with a keitech trailer. Both were equally effective. Worked along the bank & landed a dozen or so. 4-5 were around 4 lbs. Had to get back to camp, the wives were starting to call... Overall a great morning! ZERO boat traffic, one or two other camps around the lake.

So cool that you got to fish this lake, as I have always wanted to. Did I understand that you caught perch on spinner baits? Would you please share a word or two on the perch that you caught?,...as I'm wondering how big they were to attack like that =). Thank you.

Sorry, caught all the perch on a small jig set up. Designed for panfish. There are some pretty decent sized perch in there tho! Definitely eater size. 10-14” easy to catch as well, zero pressure out there.

Thanks so much for that, as it would have been so neat to see 'attack perch". Sounds like nice ones though. Thanks again again and I'm glad you had big fun.

Nice photo with the report. It is a pic of my wife and grandson a few years ago. They were on the trail out to the beach from Late Ozette. My grandson and tried fishing from a canoe and caught perch and squawfish but no bass.
