Broke away from the Spokane to visit our longtime pal Mr. Columbia. Was pursuing the elusive silver bullet (kokes) but knew it was going to be a struggle for all species when I came down the grade at Seven Bays and could see the sheep were rolling on the Columbia (white capping) as that Canadian Northerly wind was blowing down the canyon and felt I it was not going to let up. Headed out anyway down river and gave it a good shot for about 4 hours. Finesse trolled and casted around in 15 to 50 feet of water and found some trout from in shore and 100' out in the upper 20 fow. Finished the day kokeless but did manage to catch around 20 trout which I was pleased to find was a nice mixed catch half native and half planters with a really nice average. Kept 4 clipped fish for smoking and released all the rest. Managed to catch 4 fish over 20" and also released a nice native fish that went 23.25". Some of these native fish are almost deceiving in that you think you have a kokanee on because they are so silver. When you land one you'd swear it was a koke/trout hybrid. It's most likely just a unique old strain of trout.
Will post more input on this if I get a chance to talk with one of the Tribe Biologists. Tight lines everyone and BE CAREFUL ON THE ICY LAUNCHES (Especially Forth Spokane!). Good insurance policy to bring some sand with you just in case and walk the ramp to check before launching.

Sounds like a decent day for December, glad you had some good action. We caught a small wild trout that I think looked like what your describing. Just looked at him and went, "Huh".

I hear ya Part-time. Some of those fish go on big runs and even jump like kokes.

Interesting split tail on the one, don't think I've ever seen one like that before. Nice fat ones too! :-)

Phil, a few years back many of the Rufue Triploids were that way. I too have wonderred what caused this.
