Although the water was low, as expected this time of year for an irrigation reservoir, the water was fairly clear (about 3'), water temp was 38.3 F with light to moderate wind and an ambient temperature of 45 F made for a pleasant outing in my first kayak fishing trip in Scooteney this year. Spent most of the day catching perch (about 50) and marking lots of suspended fish on the graph. Never did catch any of the suspended schools so its hard to say what they were and the perch I did catch were fairly small (2 used for bait were females with eggs) but still fun to catch.

The only boat ramp open is the one on the north side of the reservoir (camp site) and even then the ramp stops about 30 feet leaving a very nice gravel ramp for launching kayaks or boats. The other boat launch is about 20' in the air with a steep (and I mean steep) drop off to the rocks underneath. No wonder the sign says steep drop off at the end of the launch.
