First cast at about 10:30. Went all the way up to the NW corner of the lake. There's a spot there that usually holds fish if it's hot out but it is a bit early in the season for it normally. Got there and didnt see anything on sonar. Started going shallower.

Got a follow from a decent looking SMB on a swimbait in about 4' of water. Other than that, didnt see any other activity, so I started my way down the lake.

It was pretty windy on the lake. I had the wind to my back on the way up, but now working my way down, was quite the struggle.

Took almost an hr until I hooked up on the first fish of the day. Not a bad start with it being a 2.44# SMB on dropshot.

Got my baits stolen a bunch of times but small fish. Next catch was a dink LMB. I lost what felt like a decent fish a couple of seconds after hooking up.

Just about done and was fishing a point.

I hear little splashing to my right. See little fingerlings jumping out of the water. Then I see what I assume is a SMB chasing right behind them near the surface of the water. Looked like a torpedo with the wake right above it. Then I see a 2nd one right behind it doing the same thing. They were in probably in the 2# range. Only lasted for about 10 seconds and they disappeared completely. I started throwing the jerkbait in the area but only had some perch follow.

Never seen it with my own eyes before. Very cool. Done by 12:30PM. Having a fishing partner changes my time on the water.

Was at the north end of the lake early Saturday morning, 6/19, looking for bass. Done by 10AM. My boat has no electronics, so just going by instinct and history. Was one of the weakest days my son and I have had out there. Caught zero. Did learn of a mapping app called Navionics from a fellow boater. I always think I should be able to make something happen up in the lilly pads with a topwater, but never have had success. I will confess I have never really seen fish hitting the top in that area, so my expectations may be out of wack. Thanks for your report.

I've only fished the north pads once or twice. And each time very unsuccessful.

I've had a little bit more success just south of the row of pilings in slightly deeper water.
