Got the boat out to Rimrock on Tuesday. Had consistent action along the southern bank. Forgot my fish finder at home but I've been skunked so many times here that I have a good feel of what doesn't work at this point. Fished dodgers and smile blade spinners tipped with garlic/ bloody tuna corn. Using lead droppers in lieu of downriggers. Had 45 feet on the line counter with 2 oz. weights out the side and 50 out the back on 1 oz. Seems like they are a better size this year than last and 3 of them had eggs so they will likely be staging for the spawn soon. Majority of the fish came on mini- shrimp spinners that I tied up after watching the videos by Spilt Milt on YouTube. The rest hit rimrock specials which a local guy Bob ties up and sells at bimart. Lost another 4-5 fish at the boat and had a lot of bites that didn't connect. Great day overall, smoke was getting bad by the time we left in the afternoon so hopefully the fire doesn't close out my season early.

Have you ever caught Rainbows in Rimrock? I used to catch cutthroat there but google always says it has rainbows.

Yeah I have caught a few rainbows in there. Last year I was hanging my gear out the side of the boat getting rigged up to troll and a nice rainbow hit it, got him released and put the rod back and it happened a second time, didn't even have any line out just hit my hoochie and corn right next to the boat on the surface. It was the weirdest thing.
